SPACE
Systems for Privacy and Compliance Engineering Lab
The SPACE lab builds systems and tools to improve end-user privacy and assist developers and applications in complying with their desired privacy policies. Our core research is in computer systems design and implementation. However, our holistic approach to privacy means that we also conduct research in systems for webservices and web frameworks, databases, programming languages and compilers, static analysis and reasoning (especially in Rust), and applied cryptography. We build and release practical and efficient open-source systems.
We are part of the faculty of computing and data sciences (CDS) at Boston University (BU). CDS is a hub for interdisciplinary computing research. We are fortunate to be part of a large and vibrant systems and security research community at BU, which includes BUSec, BU Systems, SeclaBU, the Cyber Security, Law, and Society Alliance, and RISCS.
We are actively looking for students from all levels to join the lab! If you are interested in joining, please check out this page.
